Dear Fitbit,
Do you know what time of day I absolutely hate? Step o’clock time.
When you buzz my wrist 10-minutes before the hour, to kindly remind me that it’s step o’clock time, I want to take you off my wrist and hurl you across the room. Every.single.time. Guess what? I know I’ve been sitting on my a$$ for the past 50 minutes! Thank you for making me feel oh-so-good about myself!
Or how about the Feed me (x-number of) steps. I still have the Fitbit default goal setting of 250 steps in an hour. My favorite is when it says Feed me 250 steps. So it’s pretty much saying that not only have I not actually walked around (like, at all), but I haven’t even so much as twitched my arm during that hour. I like to think it is because I am so laser-focused on my work, but well, that would be a lie.
I’m thinking I should change the setting to be ‘1.’ One step in an hour, and then I won’t get the ‘Step o’clock’ or ‘Feed me…’ reminder at 10 til. Or so I think, ha! Even if I did, I could surely get up an walk a step in that 10 minutes, no?
Sigh. Aim high, Dubowsky, aim high…
